Introduction to Advent Devotional

           Advent devotional: The Advent Season 2019 is upon us. It is a wonderful time of each year where the Christian Church prepares for Christmas. The celebration of the coming of Jesus Christ.

            What you have in your hands is an Advent devotional of a sort. There are 24 entries with a few extras in the back for good measure.

            As you read you may notice a few trains of thoughts that emerge. My hope is that these trains of thought will help you throughout this season.

            Before I tell you more about that let me start by saying one thing about which I hope this devotional DOES NOT accomplish. I hope that this devotional does not become something that is added to your Holy Day preparation and becomes a source of guilt for missing a day here or there. Or even guilt for starting it but never finishing it. I hope it does not add extra stress for you to find a few minutes to read the days entry. In short I hope this devotional does not become a negative thing for you.

            My hope is that within these pages you might identify with one or more of the trains of thoughts included and that those will bring you closer to Christ as we anticipate, once again, His arrival. Hint: arrivals is one of those trains of thought. If I prepare this correctly I will try and place a few of those categories on the bottom of each entry. I am fully trusting that the Holy Spirit will encourage you as you read and think about each entry.

            At the top will be a verse of two and then some things to think about. Maybe a prayer point and / or questions to mull over.

            May Almighty bless you and keep you in His tender mercies throughout this Holiday Season and may the anticipation of the Second coming of our Lord Jesus serve as a flame that ignites a passion for understanding more fully His first coming. May He grant to us all a very Merry Christmas, indeed.
