1. Behold the Lamb

Revelation 4: 1 After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven, and the first voice which I had heard, like the sound of a trumpet speaking with me, said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after these things.” 2 Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne was standing in heaven, and One sitting on the throne.

In the wonderful book of Revelation we get to see through the eyes of the Apostle John a vision of heaven. Or more accurately, a vision of the throne room of God. In 4:2 John arrives in heaven. He sees such a wondrous sight with creatures and scrolls and fantastic colors and seas. There is a scroll that needs to be opened but no one is found who can open it. So John begins to cry. He is quickly told to stop his weeping because there is the Lion of Judah, the Root of David, has overcome and can open the scroll. When John looks he sees the Lion. This Lion, however, looks like a Lamb that had been slain. He sees Jesus. Jesus who was slain for us.

Oh beloved, Advent is over. Tomorrow is Christmas. The Savior has been born. He who has come to save His people from there sins. He who is Immanuel, God with us. He who is the Lion of Judah. He who is the Lamb of God that take away the sin of the world.

If we are saved by faith in the Savior, Jesus Christ then we too will have a day. There is another day coming when we shall arrive in heaven. What a day that will be when Jesus we shall see. Ahhh, let us celebrate His coming today and always.
